Purdue University's hospitality and tourism management undergraduate program has been ranked No. 1 nationally by a survey published in the December issue of the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education. Raphael Kavanaugh This is the second time in 2002 Purdue's hospitality and tourism management program has been ranked No. 1 in the nation by the Journal of Hospitality & Tourism Education. The previous survey used a different methodology and sample. The more recent study selected 21 large undergraduate hospitality management programs and surveyed industry recruiters on six attributes: attitude of the students, curriculum, work experience, quality of facilities, quality of faculty, career services and overall program quality. The industry recruiters rated attitude of the students, curriculum and work experience as the most important attributes, and the surveyors weighted them accordingly.
