As part of an Ivy League university, the Hotel School has a tradition of academic excellence in hospitality management dating back to 1922. It has the most extensive curriculum, the largest full-time faculty, and the most complete and modern facilities of any comprehensive hospitality education program. Today's School of Hotel Administration is the most sophisticated service-oriented management school in the world. The Hotel School is home to 770 undergraduates from the United States and 42 countries, 120 graduate students (master's and Ph.D. degrees), and more than 1,700 industry professionals from 90 countries enrolled in executive education. Each year about 250 industry leaders visit Cornell to lecture, confer, and offer guidance to our students. More than 100 hospitality companies recruit our students for full-time and summer employment.
The Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees are highly individualized programs directed toward students who plan to teach and perform research in a university setting. Once accepted into either program, students will select a Special Committee of graduate faculty members (two for MS candidates and three for PhD candidates), who will guide the candidate in developing a course of study suited to his or her background and interests.
Candidates for either degree will develop a broad-based knowledge of hospitality management; learn research methodology, including statistical methods; become proficient at in-depth research; and acquire teaching and administrative skills.

The MMH Program is an AACSB-accredited, specialized business degree offered on two campuses that covers an intensive three-semester curriculum in one year. This rigorous academic program is based on MMH degree requirements that cultivate strategic thought and quantitative skills, a combination essential in upper management positions. In addition to core requirements, students choose their own Concentration, a series of courses concentrating in their intended career path.
In addition to the academics, the MMH program integrates many professional development opportunities where students are able to meet and interact with industry executives. Exposure to industry executives offers the students the opportunity to establish professional relationships and build an individual network to rely on throughout their careers.

The School of Hotel Administration's undergraduate degree in Hotel Administration is a rigorous four-year program that covers all aspects of hospitality management.
Our faculty has designed a business-management curriculum that provides a solid foundation in all core business and management functions, along with broad choices in electives that invite students to explore their specific interests. Students can also choose an optional concentration to focus intensively in a particular area of the hospitality industry.
The curriculum is carefully balanced between theory and practice—and with many opportunities for case studies and group projects, students are cultivating not just the necessary knowledge, but the leadership skills and professionalism that will enable them to assume cutting-edge roles in the next generation of the hospitality industry.
All students graduate from the program having worked a required 800 hours in a hospitality-related field. This Practice Credit requirement ensures a balance between classroom learning and real-world practice.
In addition to the degree requirements, the school offers many, varied special programs to enhance students' learning and living experiences.
